Our Journey

 

What are the limits of human cognition, and what tools would we need to build to go beyond them?

 

We came from the worlds of theoretical physics and pure mathematics, places where people dwell for years in search of the elegance of a proof or the symmetry of an equation. Our work brought us closer to the "impossible problems"—the Millennium Challenges, the conjectures that have withstood a century of attempts. We were immersed in the language of fundamental constants, like the one that gives our company its name, alpha (≈1/137), a number that, almost magically, connects relativity, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics. It's a bridge between worlds.

And that's when our perception shifted.

In trying to build bridges to solve these abstract problems, we realized that the most valuable thing wasn't the destination, but the bridge itself. The models we were developing, the synergy we created between human intuition and the exploratory capacity of AI in quantum environments, were a new way of seeing. It was a lens capable of shining through the fog of complexity and revealing the hidden structure beneath.

We realized that the business world faced its own "Millennium Problems": optimizing a supply chain with a million variables, discovering a new drug in an infinite space of possibilities, creating a competitive advantage that couldn't be copied. The difference was that, in academia, the goal is to publish the discovery for everyone. In the business world, discovery is your most valuable asset, your right to win.

It was at this point that the "IA Lab 1/137" was born, founded on two irreducible principles that came directly from our experience:
